About

Dear readers,

I am a Chiropractic physician and have just received my doctorate in naturopathic medicine. I am an acupuncturist, craniosacral therapist and applied kinesiologist working with supplements, lifestyle modifications, botanical medicines, aromatherapy, homeopathy and other types of energetic sciences to facilitate the body’s natural healing ability.  It is simple really, I enjoy working with one person at a time and have a unique understanding that each person is individual.  Because of this individuality, each issue, situation, condition or disease process is unique and particular to the person experiencing it.  My one hope is that I can provide the best treatment I can, in the best moments I can.

Currently I am teaching at a local community college, where the students learn about the anatomy and physiology of the body by viewing prosections of human cadavers.  A truly wonderful experience!

I am an avid ballroom dancer focusing my efforts into Lindy Hop, East Coast Swing, and Charleston.  I am also fairly proficient in the Waltz, Foxtrot, Cha-Cha, Meringue, Bachata, and other types of Latin dancing.  I am currently learning West Coast Swing and Salsa and enjoying them thoroughly!

I grew up a musician and an artist, playing primarily alto/baritone saxophone, guitar, a little piano, and frequent singing in musicals and vocal groups.  With medical school and private practice being so busy, there seems no time to be fully involved in my musical studies.

It seems that I have my hands into everything, but I do keep a very balanced life.  Food, exercise, sleep, meditation and above all discipline that helps to bring everything together into a nice neat balance.  Surprisingly through all this, I still have time for a long-lasting relationship with my partner with eventual marriage and babies!

God has TRULY blessed me in this life!

Be well,

Derek Simpson, B.S., D.C., P.A.K., N.D.
